ZR_POSTERS

For this specific poster, I had to design an advertisement about a social or political issue in the world. I went through a few ideas from Museums housing stolen art, climate change, equal rights, etc.
I ended up designing a poster about an on-going issue, school shootings in America. I knew I wanted my poster to have a quick and striking message, the end result was from a sketch I did of a gun merged with a pencil. Having a strong pull quote from research was apart
of design as well, bold
and truthful.

"EACH DAY 12 CHILDREN DIE FROM GUN VIOLENCE IN AMERICA. ANOTHER 32 ARE SHOT
AND INJURED"

CWU Art History BA

During Typography 2, my classmates and I had to create a poster for a major offered at any university.

I was choosing between two options... Forensics major or Art History Major. While this project was happening, CWU started offering an Art History BA. As a person who minored in Art History, I chose to create a poster for their new BA program.

Our posters had to be dynamic while also delivering a clear message of what the program was and who to contact.

Spring quarter of my freshman year (2023-24), my Intermediate layout design class did posters for a local gallery and submitted them in the show. Inspired by traditional boxing posters, I started my research there. I found two birds local two Ellensburg, Washington who are enemies ordained by nature to fight it out.

I submitted my poster in the (2024-25) Student Art Show at CWU and won the Student Union Art Purchase award. It is to be hung in the SURC which
is the Student and Recreation area at CWU.

Project Brief:

Attention painters, designers, and photographers! Nuwave Gallery is excited to announce an open call for submissions for our upcoming exhibition, "Winged Wonders." In honor of Ellensburg's thriving birding community and the diverse avian beauty that graces our landscapes, we invite artists to showcase their interpretations of these winged marvels. Whether you're captivated by the graceful flight of birds, the intricate details of feathers, or the scenic beauty of Ellensburg's natural habitats, we encourage you to submit your work for consideration.
