THE STUDENT-RUN LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE OF CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY
PULSE was an essential part of my daily life at Central Washington University, serving as Creative Director for a year taught me new ways of leadership and organization as a graphic designer.
I have found my true calling in print publication because of PULSE.
At the end of the academic year in 2025, PULSE was faced with a defunding crisis due to poor budgeting allocations. My colleagues and I fought to save the publication and made progress for future CWU Wildcats. My team and I curated a fundraising event at Old Skools in Ellensburg, WA. We called it PULSE Palooza.
Through this hard time in journalism being silenced across the country, even on a college campus level. My team and I pushed through the adversity and fought for what was right. We partnered with The Observer, our campus newspaper, and organized a protests against the defunding and silencing of journalism. I had the honor of featuring this story through design in PULSE's Spring 2025 Issue (pg. 38).
I am proud to have worked so closely with so many journalists and hope to continue my pathway in life in print publication and fighting for what's right.
Special thanks to our faculty advisor Jennifer Green and my wonderful team:
